How to Apply to Union County Early College
The recruiting and application process begins in October at the middle school with a visit by our student/counselor team to speak to the 8th grade students. Each middle school principal schedules a time for us; then, students who are interested in more information go to the 8th grade counselor and ask for the packet of information. Night information meetings for parents are available each month on the SPCC campus beginning in November. Applications from parents and students are then due back to the counselor at the middle school beginning in January. The counselors add information from 7th grade EOG tests, report cards, attendance, discipline, and confidential core teacher referrals and submit the complete packet in January and February. Interviews will then be scheduled by the Early College for applicants with potential for success in this school focusing on aggressive curriculum. The final step is gathering 8th grade EOG scores, final report card, discipline and attendance reports in May.
